From the sublime to the ridiculous and from the mundane to the special, scenes around Oaxaca frequently bring a smile.

August 2026 – Garbage day gathering of the neighbors in Barrio de Jalatlaco.
June – 2026 Wrought iron meets stickers somewhere along Calle Armenta y Lopez.
July 2026 – Sculptures along Jardín Carbajal (Macedonio Alcalá at Cosijopi).
July 2026 – Food vendor from San Miguel del Valle at the Fundación En Vía Women Entrepreneurs Fair.
July 2026 – Street-sweeper broom stored in a tree along Calzada de la República.
July 2026 – Shaved ice vendor quenching the thirst of dancers and onlookers during the Sección 22 Guelaguetza desfile (parade).

I miss this when I’m not here.

Stuck on you

And, what’s with the skull and cross-bones?  Rebellion?  Symbol of a toxic culture??  Perhaps.  But, like Che, one now sees them everywhere — even on toddler clothes.  Co-opted, again!
