September is El Mes de la Patria in Mexico (the month of the homeland) and Oaxaca is showing the colors. Green, white, and red is everywhere — from the almost sublime to the downright ridiculous!

I’d say the last guy is making the most of the celebration!
Hmmm… He was hanging out in Tlacolula. 😉
Buenas tardes,
I’ve been following your blog for several weeks now, stumbled upon it this summer, while surfing for info, trying to catalog some photos of churches I had taken last winter. You have clearly put a lot of time and effort into creating such an unique resource. Good for you!
I’ve been fortunate to go to Oaxaca in 2012 and 2014, so it’s very enjoyable to see and read your posts about such a magnificent place. I hope you will continue to share the goings-on in the city and surrounding area.
Thanks again.
Muchisimas gracias for reading and for your much appreciated comments! I hope to continue to share this colorful and inspiring place. 😉
Viva Oaxaca tambien ! Perhaps Panchito should be “saluding” with glass of Mezcal ? 😉
Sí. He was in Tlacolula and they do have a Feria de la Nieve y el Mezcal every year. However, the can is much lighter and if a bottle was filled with mezcal, someone would probably take a sample or two. 😉
