I love reading your posts. I’m considering meeting my son in Oaxaca, health issues cooperating.
Do you fly into Mexico City and go from there? Or what is the best travel route? Thanks!

I’ve flown in from Houston and from Mexico City. The Houston to Oaxaca is preferred, as the airport is small, thus it is easier going through immigration and customs, as opposed to the Benito Juárez airport in Mexico City. However, the last couple of years, I’ve flown Delta/Aeromexico through Mexico City. It’s a bit of a challenge, but arriving and departing are both in Terminal 2, it’s cheaper, and I’ve gotten used to it. It also depends on where in the US you are leaving from. If in California, flying Volaris, using CBX to cross the border, and flying out of Tijuana is the easiest and fasted of all. However, due to the virus and inadequate health services, now is not the time to come to Oaxaca. Stay healthy and safe!
