Just want to thank you for your beautiful photo-blog messages. Like a breath of fresh air. I’m booked to travel to Oaxaca end of O to er for 15 days (my se I d Dia De Muertos) and wonder if they will cancel that event as well. Short of having an”crystal ball to predict the future”, do you have any inkling as to when they will decide it should be cancelled? Oaxaca is so vivid, Beautiful and lively – can wait to get back.

Thank you for your kind words! We are living life here day-to-day and, as such, I have no idea what the future, even October/November, will bring.
You can follow the trajectory of Covid-19 cases and deaths in all of Mexico and individual states at this federal government coronavirus website: [dot] gov [dot] mx . And, Oaxaca’s health department ” ssogoboax ” on Facebook updates their page daily and you can see breakdowns by municipalities.
Wow, and that was just in the month of July! What a rich and vivid culture! Sad to see it shut down. Still, I have faith that all of us will find some normalcy in the days to come. We are resilient humans and will find a way to celebrate and honor our lives and heritages. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Oaxaca lead the way!
Yes, the cultures of Oaxaca are very old, have survived much, and have always found ways to survive.
So beautiful. I hope we will be able to celebrate together again next year.
Oh my! Thanks so much for these great and beautiful photos. I really want to go to Oaxaca! Before the virus issue I had my trip planned. I was going to spend a month, including two weeks in Teotitlan weaving with Zapotec master weavers at their studio. Now I’m still waiting and in the meantime I will look at these pictures frequently with great hope. This too shall pass.
Yes, we must stay safe, keep others safe, and this too shall pass.
I was in Oaxaca in February for my annual visit. Been thinking about it a lot. We are learning to treat so much as if it were the last time. Dos Tortas
Yes, and appreciating the little things.
