We have always waited too long to recognize the impending downpours in Oaxaca. Locals sense them ahead of their arrival and secure one of the usually abundant taxis. It’s amazing how fast the cabs evaporate, leaving the unprepared completely drenched.
I know! I never count on taxis and always carry an umbrella during the rainy season. Ya just never know… 😉
Was remembering this sort of Oaxacan rainfall this evening while stepping into a pair of Birkenstocks a bit damaged by being caught in the same during my last visit.
The day I took the photos, I got home and the bottom of my feet were black. I couldn’t believe the streets were THAT dirty and then realized that it was dye from the foot bed of my sandals!
great photos…i feel i am there but inrainy England instead
Rainy England not a bad place to be. 😉
Catching up with emails Shannon. These are wonderful. Thank you for showing me the Oaxaca I have never experienced. Peter
