From gnarled tree limbs throughout the city…
purple blossoms have emerged.
Set against clear blue skies, it’s jacaranda time…
a not-so-subtle sign that spring is on its way.

Ooh I needed to see this today, while wee are getting another 4-5 inches of snow. Leaving for Valladolid and Isla Mujeres next week. Can’t wait.
Good plan!!!
So beautiful! Thanks for the reminder of spring. Snow expected here tonight but snowdrops and tulips will be up before long.
They always make me happy!
Another uplifting post! Can harldy wait to be there & enjoy the J trees myself 🙂
Glad you got to see them!
Such a lovely shade of purple … Jacarandas are in bloom here in India as well! Great photos!
Thank you. Glad to know you enjoy their beauty in India, as well!
Hi Shannon! Welcome to Thursday Tree Love. I am so glad you joined this edition and with Jacarandas’ blooms that are very common in Bangalore too where I live. However, this is one color I haven’t seen. The usual ones are pink and shades of it. You got some lovely pictures there. Thank you for joining!
Looking forward to see you on March 14 too.
Thank you. Love all the Thursday tree photos!

I have seen pictures of this tree in bloom – so beautiful. It is not hardy where I live and I have never seen it in bloom. I would love to one day.
They are beautiful… even the spent blossoms that fall to the ground!
Jacaranda are my favourite tree and we have one just beginning to bloom across the road. It’s a bit difficult though for this tree to battle the pollution in the city and the blossoms aren’t as full and luscious looking like the ones in your photo.
I don’t know how they survive the bus and car pollution here in the city!
Lovely purple colour!! I love this colour..
[…] It’s Tabebuia rosea and jacaranda time. […]
I have never seen these trees in bloom “in person” – they are not hardy where I live in upstate New York. Your photos are beautiful and I think they are one of the most beautiful trees. So purple!
